ICE ON CROTCH LAKE?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I don't know about the winter but the summer you need to fish the Narrows point see map !! Might be somewhere to start !!!
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Pappy ~ Do live in that area? Im trying to remember the name of a small gas station that was in Ompa. They had a bait shop there. maybe they will have some info on the ice conditions?

I did check the ofsc web site as i remember there is a trail that cuts down the centre of that lake. They post it as not open yet? might have to do some walking on sat.

My suggestion would be to call Tumblehome Lodge and ask for current status. They are very nice people and you should get and answer.

I cannot remember the name of owner but I think it's ED

phone: 613-279-2414

good luck .....Let as know how did you do :)

Actually, Ed's stepson has been managing Tumblehome for the past 3 yrs. or so. His name is Ward. He lives there year round so he should be familiar witht the ice conditions. Give him a ring. Let us know what you find out.

As luck would have it, I just had occasion to talk with Ward at Tumblehome Lodge on Crotch L. I was calling to make deposits for our vacations this summer. In any event, he said that the lake is ice covered and that he is able to skate anywhere. He said that there is just one shack on the lake and that it is in the same place every year. So, evidently, the lake is safe and the fishing pressure is practically non-existent. Good luck!

CROTCH LAKE

Post by Northerner »

I own the cottage at the far end of Crotch Lake. Colonel Island has been in our family for many years. Good fishing right out in front of the cottage. I live in Windsor so I don't get up there as much as I would like. My brother in Kingston goes up, but not in the winter. There are Whiefish in the lake as well

Very good walleye fishing in the lake. Tumblehome Lodge have small bait shop as well. I'm not sure if they carry any alive baits at this time of the year but fell free to call them.
There must be some tackle shops in Sharbot ? Someone might know this ?

Looking forward to see your report :)
