Look at this site for simcoe conditions. http://www.lakesimcoemessageboard.com/index.php At the top of the page there are speacialty forums one is called Ice report and real time weather. Conditions are updated everyday and are very accurate to specific areas of the lake.

MMM,

Thanks for the excellent resource on ice conditions at Simcoe. I'm planning a week-long trip with the family January 1st and hoping to time it just right for some icefishing. I'll certainly be watching via this link the reports and conditions.

Well Ratsotail, if these cold temps continue, i don't see why you wouldn't have walkable ice on Cooks Bay, Cooch or even Lake St John by the first week of January. Good luck and play it safe out there!!
