Which Magazine???

To all those with subscriptions to fishin' mags,

Any suggestions as to what would be a good magazine subscription... I'm thinking of asking for one for Christmas, but don't know which one to choose. I would like one with info on all sorts of species (Carp, walleye, bass, pike, trout, etc. etc.) Preferably focusing on Ontario, or Canada, or North America... So what's my best bet?

Two excellent independent Ontario publications that cover lots of angling information on all species are:
Just Fishing - Big Jim McLaughlin;
Real Fishing - Bob and Wayne Izumi.

You can get a 1 year subscription to both of these magazines for less then the purchase of one American magazine at the newsstand.

Hey Brandon,

I'd recommend Ontario Out of Doors magazine, but then again, I might be a bit biased on this suggestion..

Good Fishing (and Reading),

i love OOD, but i wish they would make a fishing only edition....

i'm not a hunter, and my three year subscription wasn't renewed due to the amount of hunting stuff....

but if you like both, there isn't a better mag on the planet.

I like OOD too. I also have a subscription to Outdoor Canada, but I find it's a longggg wait for the next one. They are not monthly.

InFishermen is a great magizine, but I don't find enough local material in it. I do buy it every month when I pass through an airport.

Hey Brandon,

I subscribe to:

In-Fisherman (lot's of good info in there)
Ontario Out of Doors (just subscribed to this one)
Musky Hunter (Not worth while unless you are in the US)
And I normally pick up Outdoor Canada when I see it on news stands.

Hope this helps.

In-Fisherman, OOD, Real Fishing are my 3 favourite multi-species magazines. :)

Guys please note that the Real Fishing website is not a secure order form so I would suggest that you call and place your order. The online form just appears to be a "dumb" form, meaning its submitted to the webmaster and then manually transfered to an order system (or paper work is filled out).

Bring back Ontario Fisherman. If you lived in Ontario or fished in Ontario, it was the best mag out there! I still go back to some of the old issues when I am going to fish bodies of water they covered!

The ones mentioned are all good, I would also add BASS to the list if you are a Bass fisherman. Even though it is a US mag, it always has the new baits and techniques which can be applied anywhere.
