Hi Folks, I want to buy an in-line planer board and hope you could advise me on what works and what doesn't, good brands, bad brands. La Barons is right around the corner from work and I'm hoping they have something in stock that will work.

I know first hand Baitcasters carries great planar boards. They were spec'd by Eye-Tracker, so you know you are buying the good stuff.
Forget which brand, but you might wanna give Crystal a call, I'm sure she could help you out.
And it would give you an excuse to go fish Mississippi.

2 of the best are the yellow offshores and the red church boards...I use the yellow offshores, but I prefer the red ones. I like the rear clip in the red ones and my next set of boards will be the Red ones.

I saw the Church Tackle ones on the Cabelas web site. They looked alright. So where is Baitcasters? Obviously Carleton Place but where? Got a phone number?

Can you put 5 or 6 colours of lead core line on these boards and will they still float

No Joke here,I have used them with 15 colors for salmon . They have adjustable ballast weights underneath. roughrider

I bought myself a set of 4 church boards as last year i struggled at quinte with some no-name brand models.

With the rear pin chasing a board should be a thing of the past. My opinion these are the best with the off-shores being a very close second.

I've got Off Shores..did the trick for me!

Actually got a kick out of watching them fly 2 feet airborne over the waves at Quinte...

I've got the Off SHores with the new clip and that holds the braided line and the mono real tight, no releases and retrieving.

I've had Off Shores for years with no issues to speak of, I did however pick up the Church boards last fall to give a go on the advice of roughrider...I'm sure they'll be great too

About the clips on the offshore boards -- This summer I have switched to the Church Tackle clips. They work great with super lines and are easy to clip-unclip.


The church boards are the best for leadcore.

Another inline board that I spent lots of time on the water with this summer was the church Tx 6 Mini Planner. These are great little boards that show when you have weeds on the crank or small walleye, perch etc. on the line. They are too small for the fish to use them against you and you can use them with regular rods.

This was my special weapon this summer on fish suspended only a few feet below the surface.

They are only 5 1/2" long (a bit bigger then a business card)
