Back from Newboro
Spent a week in Newboro fishing Newboro Lake and near by Benson...we did okay but no big fish...all bass sm & lm were under 4lbs and pike were eating lures like crazy...water seemed very warm compared to years past...the big lm bass came off the pads and the big smallies were all caught trolling in 20+ deep water...better luck next year....
Sounds like you still had a productive trip...and lots of fish.

Too bad about the lack of bigger fish, but you were getting some action anyway.
You're sure right about the water temp's being higher than usual. This summer's prolonged heat spell definitely made bathwater out of some of the lakes.
