Was on White Lake this weekend and caught some nice LM bass trolling deep diving cranks.

The cranks were running about 15 ft in 20FOW.

Sorry no pics, forgot the digital at home

Most of the bass I caught were in deep water, the shore was not producing nearly as well.

RRC,

nice to hear you found some action. Did you locate the fish on the depth finder, or just decided to move out after shore casting was slow?

Also glad to hear you found the fish. Was at Christe Lake in July. First two days were good for bass then it got to hot. Planing at trip to White lake in October. Hope the water cools down.

We were out in a friends 12 ft alum., no depth finder, just going on 30 years experience on the lake ( i'm 32, so that tells you how long I have been going to W.L.).

Why were we trolling deep diving cranks? Well for two reasons, the shallow water action for bass was kind of slow, and if we could catch the incidental 'eye it would be a bonus! They are still in W.L., you just have to know where to look

One thing of note, the LM were very sluggish coming out of the deep. When they hit the lure they just felt like dead weight with no fight until they were near the boat.

Bear, I have had okay success this year with SM on the Miss. My luck has not been as good as last year, but still enough to keep me coming back

Water temps have pushed the bass deeper...Look for them to start moving shallow again or simply turn on in the shallows with the cooler nights.

Well we tried, but were getting bass instead. I have had some luck with walleye on the lake, but it's a hit and miss type of thing.

Fished the last three days on the lake my cottage is on for smallies. Fishing was real slow on the usual banks and beds so moved to 15-20 feet and nailed them. Also they were coughing up lots of minnows and were all surprisingly really fat. Do they know something about the weather we don't and are already fattening up??????

Oh yeah....we were draggin tubes right on the bottom
