Fish-Hawk.Net

I live on the Moose River in northern Ontario like everywhere else in the province we have experienced a very hot summer. Within the last week and a half we have witnessed a major die off of fish due to warm water conditions. The bulk of the fish are suckers but people are finding walleye now to, and there is a rumor that sturgeon have been washing up now as well. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this sort of die off and if it will turn off the fishing for the near future.

Ps. When I was going to check on my boat yesterday morning I was saddened to see a 29" walleye lying on the beach along with the suckers. I 've been after that fish sooo long. It broke my heart to see the crows just tearing away at that magnificent fish.

Thats bad, I guess up that way they have no deep waters to retreat to?
hopefully we'll get some cooler temps comin up by the weekend.

Thats happened at my cottage to, all the fish are gone. All i was catching was little rock bass. All the big fish have gone deep to the cooler temps.

Shallow W. catches as many fish as I do, and most times it's him that's driving my butt up and down the river. Together we spook 'em to death.

Perhaps you've seen the thread during the past month or two about the big muskies dying on the St. Lawrence? Testing is being performed to help conclude why -- but there is speculation, as always, and one theory is due to a dramatic warm up in water temp's.

Sorry to learn something's up in your "neck of the woods" as well.
