Bait for musky

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Bait for musky

Post by Urbanfisherman »

Does anyone know where I could find large chubs or whatever other live bait for Musky fishing. I had a musky take my little smallmouth today.... He jumped and spit the fish out after a 30 second fight on my fly rod...

I've tossed a bunch of big plugs in the past and no luck... but I've had a rockbass AND a smallmouth get eaten by a musky so I figure that live bait rigs would be the next step.

Anyways,

I'll go out looking for bait tomorrow... probably start at Sportsaction.. then I'll see from there.

While you are there.....buy a quick strike rig....and hit him as soon as he takes the minnow.....

Otherwise the possibilty of catching it again next year go way down.....because he'll be turtle food... :(

Sports Action's a sure bet for a couple huge sucker minnows, got a few
in the tank that are bigger than the lil' Bass I was pluckin' out last pm.
They're open at 11 today.
