I've got about 5 dozen worms in my worm box in the fridge./ They are still very healthy and lively.
Other than keepig them cool and moist, is there anything that I can add to them to give them food/nutrients??
thanks

What me and my brother did was buy a worm box and frabill worm bedding. Just follow the instructions on the bag and your worms will get fatter and longer. It works great.

If you use newspapeer you can also use coffee grounds and eggshell. They will work it upinto compost for you.

As jig head said we have been using this for a while, we have about 6 dozen worms in the basement that dont even need to be in the fridge and they have been down there and growing for almost a month now
We have been using this product called Fat And Sassy by Frabill that has a mixed in food source and growing stuff.
We keep them in a box that is made also by Frabill it is great because it is insulated.
No walleye can resist a Fat And Sassy worm.

keep them cool and moist, and for extended periods, try feeding them chicken mash ..I've never seen a worm on steroids . but this has to be the next best thing. Just sprinkle some on top and when it's gone, just add some more

The Fat & Sassy worm bedding is great stuff. I've had 300 worms in that stuff for 2 months now. I have a student fridge in my basement set for 42* Fahrenheit and the worms love it in there. Only thing I've added to my worm bedding is a stale piece of bread and a banana peel. I check the worms about twice a week to remove any bad worms. I've only lost about 12 to 15 in those 2 months. About every 3 weeks I'll dump the whole lot of them in a big styrofoam box and break up any clumps that sometimes form on the bottom. I've used this stuff for the last 3 years and have had great success with it. I like that it is already to go - no mixing water with it. Plus it already has food mixed in it. Just my 2 cents.

In the states, you can get it from Cabela's or Gander Mountain stores(possibly from Bass pro shops also). I don't know where in Canada it is available. I would think if a store carried other Frabill items, they should be able to get this also. In the states it usually runs $5 u.s. for a 5 pound box.

That's a great idea, it will give them something to read while they eat their eggs for breakfast and enjoy some caffeine!!

run your local newspaper thru the shredder but only after the
sweety has read it.
the paper is printed with vegetable ink , they eat , they get fatter and you end up with a nice bucket of rich soil for you sweety's plants
my gal love me for it but she will not go near my worm box or
leach jar, perfect
