2019 Ice season, Shirley's bay

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Took a drive out to the Bay today.
Some poor lad is wayout looks like a Crossover of some type and is STUCK, hopefully he can get himself out. He had been trying for about two hours no luck.

Mnr was out taking sediment samples way out by Aylmer Island.
Weren't to talkative.

Wishing the poor lad that is stuck good luck.

i was out too, came prepared with jack, winch, cleats and wood planks. The guy got out with the planks and cleats and a lot of digging. Then some idiot with a regular car (i think a Camry) decided to give it a go. He was stuck until well after dark. I left at 8pm, no problem driving slow of the ice and the Camry was gone.

Fished for a couple hours last night with a buddy. Per the usual this year we got one medium Walleye (released) also got one LIng (kept, swallowed hook).

This morning I packed up the trailer and took it off the ice. A very slow and dissapointing season at Shirleys this year.

Hey - anyone out there that is able to help me get my Hut of the ice at Shirley's? I have been working at it the last 2 days and don't have a big enough truck or equipment to do this. Spoke with the MNR and they simply make no exceptions as expected....despite the ice still being 30 Inches thick.
Not looking for any lectures please! I am new at this and have simply been caught off guard....

Let me know if anyone can help or knows anyone willing to help..

He's off the ice - the trailer is still sort-of in one piece.

Did anybody fish on the Bay over the weekend? Was there much slush to contend with? I have to get my son out again this year.
Cheers!
I'll never apologize for being a hunter (or a fisherman)!

.....BTW - my trailer is the silver one in the NCC parking lot. I have a couple of issues regarding towing it right now with the main issue being that we broke the tow hitch latch while removing it. The trailer actually came off the hitch just at the ramp when we were driving off the ice. I bought a new tow latch that should be delivered today to my home - and then I can safely tow it out tomorrow.

Hoping this can be conveyed to the NCC (I left a message today with the NCC as well)

It didn't look too bad today. Ramp isn't great but the path to the right is good.
