Ice conditions for driving...

Post by Duck Gunner »

Jale6666...

Sounds great!
I believe the spot we're thinking in over past the island.
Unless, the locals have been great them in numbers at another spot.
The report will be reassuring to all...

I will be driving out onto the ice as well. I hate walking too.
I will be driving my pickup so gear and guys could conceiveably fall into the back for the trek onto the ice.

I'll be leaving around 0415hrs.
Nighttroller if it's cramped we could meet somewhere in the West end and someone could jump in with me.
Iceman's got my cell number.

Just took a drive up to Silver. Ramp on is in good condition. About 3-4 inches of fluffy, light snow on top of the ice.

Drove out around the big island at the rest stop. Forgot auger so no idea on how much ice. Was lotsa vehicle tracks all over area since last snow on monday.

At least 25 holes on north side of island where others have been fishing recently.

There was no one out fishing when I was there so no current reports

See ya in the morning..

I would love to go fishing with you guys at Silver lake It would be my first time with Hawktalkers. I was supposed to go petrie with my daughter and she backed out. I only have one vehicle so if i want to leave for the day I'd need a Ride. Plus I've never fished for trout so my tackle box for trout stuff is slim to none but if i get any pointers for lures that i would find at CTC I could pick some up 2nite.

If not I'll go to petrie and find someone there
Thanks
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!
