2015 Soft Water Season ** What Are You Itching To Try **

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I got one last week, can't wait to throw it. She looks sweet. Kind of wish I bought another before some dude came in and cleared out the store!

...... and if I get an extra rod, that will mean another reel. 8)

What did you buy? A rat or a rod?

I am currently looking at the shimano Citica baitcast reel, has some of the best reviews for 2014! & also the Shimano Compre bass casting rod probly xfast med/heavy!!! what do you guys think about this? Any do's or donts for that "combo" ? I have fished all my life but this is my first time really searching for a good rod and reel for myself! The snow cant melt fast enough! when I see a couple inches on the asphalt that melted I get all excited haha, fish are calling us!!! :P
That combo should be good for a quite a few things. It will all depend on what type of line you put on it. Be forwarned though, the prices only go up from there

They say a new tacklehoe is born every day!!!

For me, I've bought a pompador, received a buzzjet for xmas and got a smoking deal on some Seaguar Tatsu line that I am itching to try. I have t been a fan of flouro in the past and I am hoping this stuff makes me a believer.

I've got a few rods and reels I still want to buy, I just have t quite figured out what they are going to be yet...

Those Kamooki baits do look pretty sweet! I bought two at the boatshow not knowing Ed was going to carry them. By the looks of it, Ed has two extra colors that I am interested in and will probably pick them up this week.

Also joined OVSB this year. I will be fishing 6 tournaments so this should be an interesting year. One will be out of my boat (MS Bassin) and the others will be as a co angler through OVSB. My goal is to learn something from every angler/boater every trip out. That shouldn't be too hard considering I have only fished two of the waters...

I'm sure there are a half dozen things I have left out (most of my buying happens over these months) but I am definitely chomping at the bit to get out there.

Musky eat Pompadours. No leader + musky + bye bye expensive lure. I was lucky and landed the musky

I'll be bringing in some Furys. Probably not available until May. With the exchange plus duty, they will run around $140.00ish though.

I'll order some of those honking big rats

Santa brought me a Daiwa - Tatula for Christmas. So I can't wait to string er' up with some fresh braid and give her a 'spin'.

Right at the end of soft water season, I won a bunch of fancy Strike King plastics off of the Extreme Angler FB page, so I can't wait to toss those into some newly-budding grass

And I bought a neat spinnerbait from Ed's back in December. It's got multiple arms and kinda looks like an umbrella rig. Given my perchance for spinnerbaits, I'm dying to try this puppy out!

A non-pregnant girlfriend....

Hoping to acquire a Dobyn's flipping stick and a frog rod before soft water.

Hoping to try out some new (to me) gar spots.

I made the switch to the dark side(Daiwa) over the winter and I’m can’t wait to try these reels out (Tatula’s and Zillion’s). Also looking forward to a Dobyns 743DX and some 6th sense crankbaits.

Well I've got a few things to try out, I'll post about them later but this weekend I bought a reel and given the exchange rate it was well worth buying it at the local store!!

Quantum Smoke Speedfreak, 8.1:1 Ratio.
Solid reel, not as light as the MG Tour but it'll make an amazing reel for some Topwater Frog and if all goes well I may acquire another for my flipping rod.

Late last year I bought a couple MG Tours, great reels!! SUPER LIGHT!

Just please give us a fair warning prior to kicking our baby out of your garage in order to make room for this new "ride".
You can't be using her to sooth your cabin fever needs and then just kick her to the curb!

I've seen the liquor bottle in the garage....god knows what happened!

Definitely looking forward to tossing a few with my new Shimano Chronarch Ci4+, all spooled up nicely with 50 lb. power pro slick (timber) courtesy of Ed out at Paddletales.

The sad part is that I plan on using it for bassin', so I have to wait a bit later for the season to open....
