This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My first boat was a hobie I bought last summer. It's opened up fishing where I couldn't go before. I don't regret the purchase.

I bought a 16' kevlar (Scott Canoe) 2 years ago from Frontenac Outfitters, weighs 42lbs and thoroughly love it. It's light enough for me to handle on/off the car, even when my back is giving me issues.

I can get through creeks when others can't, and can launch from the side of the road without the need of a launch ramp. :)

Cheers!

I'd really like to try kayak fishing. I saw a couple out at morris island last year and have wanted to try it ever since. Especially since I am boat poor. Can anyone recommend a good rig? Also, how "safe" would you consider it. Would you go out alone?

hi glacier

first you got a pm.

and the best thing you could before you go get one..its to try it. first.

nothing like bying a kayak then a few week or month later you try it for the first time and you dont like the ride or your not comfy or not stabyle anaught for you and so on.

you can rent some in a few location around here for not mutch a day and a lot off time you can take that rent fee out off the purchase if you deside to by one.

or you get demo day or night for a lot off those kayak stoe and its free so can try a few in a night that guive you a good ideal.

some dont like the paddling so easy and better for you.to no before you guive some $$ off.

there nothing worst then having a kayak in the backward that dont get wet becasue you dont like it and have to lose some $$ trying to sale it.

so best advise try it before...no rush thing.

plus there alwasy some deals...on used ones..or demo kayak or end off season sale.

guive it time and wen you find what you want and like..you will get hook on this adventure.

Thanks for the compliment on my site joco. But I can't say that I've poled yet....paddle to my spot, then drop anchor. Even have my fishfinder rigged up. :)

Won't be long now.....

Cheers!
