Ottawa is a bit too far for me but sure sounds like a good time.
Will be targeting bullhead here in a few weeks.

Depending on time/date I'll be there with some extra gear to share for anyone new to the game.

I'll most likely be there Sunday night if anyone wants to join me! Do you guys usually fish off the rocks on the north-east side of the island?

I stocked up on some bait today at a local creek, suckers are fun to catch on an ultralight

Now that is some prime bait. Whole for Pike or Lakers, or in chunks for cats, or in nice belly strips on a spoon for Greys. Good stuff. Now you just need some bigger ones for canning.

Me i baught bait todays,,,,big worms,,,and fresh frozen sardine,,,they love oily stuff!

No time to make my bait,,mabe next time.

Any tips for parking if we're coming down with a car?

For parking,,,after 6pm no prob,,tons of parking,,,,you can park like 50-100 feet frome car.

Its to get there that is sometime harder for some.

Will go again tomorow and will come back to ya on this part,,,cause there been working down there and closing some roads,,so will have freash detail on how to go down there! Again wecall it victorias island but we. Are not at victoria island we are on the ontario side of the river!

But for the one that want walleyes frome shore,,wen the time come the victoria island is a place to try!

Good thing to have

Rod/reel combo lol
Y stick or something to hold your rod while you chat

Pair of pliers,,,cuters
Something to wash your hand towel something!
Small knife
Something to sit,,,chair or bucket

If sunny. Solarglas

And dontforget. Baits
For the bait,,if yours is cold and you want them to get to smushy in hot weater mabe bring cold pack and put it with in a bucket or something...
And trully have your fishing permit

And rope or chaine or bucket etc if you want to keep some........cats is a very good fish to eat,,,i love catsshowder!

It s tricky spot to get to but parking is "free" after 6 or 7; cops check the lot but never bother anyone in the evening (my experience)

I usually park on the island itself and fish, I have never fished on the actual "ottawa city" shore before!!!

I am certainly game to try it there. Just keep posting when you guys go and I will surely make it out. I have my fingers crossed for perhaps Tuesday night.

Anyone fish for catfish from Bates Island? I think its one of the only places so far that I haven't tried!
