Fishing at the Cottage * Now with Pictures *

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

All I can say is "ouch"! Those quills musta hurt. The fawn does look tired but no worse for wear! Nice fish too, and how old are you Torp?? If I didn't know betta I'd say like 22!

Best way to get them porcupine needles out is to snip the ends off with a pair of scissors first then pull the remaining needle out. They are a nightmare to remove when left whole and the dog will not like it.

Another great report from the Wolfe family. Nothing but smiles, except for your dog who doesn`t look to impressed with himself! :)

I have had to pull quills from an in-laws Rotty... just jabbing him with the traquilizer was hard enough, then pulling out the quills with plyers and vise-grips!!! Had to do it three times to the same dog...

Just be thankful that your dog is markedly smarter than your common pit bull...

Don't feel too bad about the pike - they are great eating and there's enough of them to support a fish fry now and again.

Awesome report guys (and gal), aside from the porky incident.

And don't worry about the hat Torpedo, at least you're wearing it straight..

:!: :!: :!: to the pit vs. porky picture. Just unbelievable. I initially thought it was a picture of someone holding a porcupine carcass 'til I realized there's a DOG under there. Just crazy!

With regard to the assorted caps sported by the family -- I just recently told the kids there is a moratorium on the purchase of new hats. Enough!!

Thanks for the fun comments, everyone.

Already looking forward to the next time up at the lake...soon!

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
