It's a bit small on the downrigger, just can't fish as deep.
I'm interested to see how it performs this winter on the ice.

I then bought a Shimano baitcast combo from Lebaron... LOVE IT!!

They were both in the $75 range.

I also have several Shimano Sonora reels, but they aren't orange like Scott's. The Sonora is a decent reel for the price IMO.

My jigging rod is the one I really care about, as it carries a lot of memories. It is an older Cane pole with a spring tip... The line never flips over the end of the pole when jigging. The spring dips on the bite, but the rod has enough backbone for a good hookset.

I have several, but two that I use most often.

1. Had made 6'6" carbon fiber two piece with a diawa advantage bait casting reel.

2. Shimano Compre 6'6" two piece with a 5 yr old mitchell avocet reel.

And they all catch fish :)

I recently picked up a Berkeley Amp rod, 7' medium action for when I am out bassing and some walleye fishing, and this thing is awesome. For such an inexpensive rod, I think $30, it is pretty awesome. I have an Abu reel on it with 10lb power pro and it casts like a dream when I am throwing senko's and does equally well if I want to put a spinner on. The rod has such great feel that I am now planning on buynig a second one so I can have the same set up.

My favorite subject is rods and reels and tackle also, I can talk tackle all day. I wish there was a section for "Tackle Talk", I would probably contribute more to this site. Seems like all everybody wants are reports.

Tackle report? Sounds good to me! :D
Like, I hate this new baitcaster because....
Or I love it because...
I'd be all over that. I'm shoping for new gear myself... continuously...
