What lure are you going to throw first on June 27th?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Last year on opening day I was out with 3 buddies on the St. Larrys... I was on the white-big-o as usual, and boated over 2 dozen smallies in the few (4+) hours we were out... the others accounted for 1 pike and 2 other bass... needless to say, 3 people went and bought white big-o's the next day... They kept changing tactics, from drifting, to shoals, to weedlines, to trolling, to deep water, to currents, back bays... etc... trying to get bites, I kept putting fish in the boat... (which btw, was just bull-sh1t luck, i'm not that good of a fisher, but that day I felt like a frigg'n pro)

It's a smallie producer for sure... I have them in all sizes, and multiples cause I found that the last few years the plastic quality sucks and the diving lips break more often than not...

Charleston Lake
Morning
Spinnerbait Or zara spook or Mann's -1

Later on:
Lucky Craft 100
Rapala dt-10

If those don't work then
Senko
Drop shot

Or if I go to Big Rideau

Spinnerbait or Zara spook
Lucky Craft 100
Drop Shot
Jig

ALL depends on where I am going and conditions.

If I get one more birdsnest on my baitcaster it will be my baitcaster

Why oh why do they have to do that. Has no one created an emergency stop for these puppies yet??

For me it will be a Zara spook. Nothing like watching the ripples subside after a cast, eagerly anticipating that explosion before the first twitch.
