Perfect ending to 7 days off.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dan: I can not believe you have that much patience to not run and pull the fish up...If it was me I would leave the crappie and go for the nice pike. I prefer going for the pike, walleye etc over perch crappie and bluegills. I do enjoy when a good panfish bite happens because it keeps me entertained but dang Dan that Vex would have been alone with me pulling up that tip up. Good to see you had a great vacation and that most days were a Crappie day

Good report and nice catch. Glad to hear you straightened out Mr. Poacher.

Out of curiosity do you always eat what you catch in the Ottawa?? Especially down stream from the water treatment/crap factory plant??

Like anything, I suppose it's safe in moderation. But man, I've seen some pretty gross stuff around there.

Great report Wallyboss, thank you. Gotta love the crappie bite when it is hot, not sure if there better ice-fishing action out there. It's unreal the number of pike in the bay this year. I guess we're not the only ones after the crappie!

Nope, other wise our sewage treatment plants would have big butt freezers built in  . As a general rule there will be less E.Coli in the river in the winter because there is a lot less run off entering the river. I have not seen the fish consumption guides lately but they should not have E.Coli result because E.Coli will not be found in fish flesh.

I have eaten loads of fish from the Ottawa and I am just Fiiiine.

Darn that looked like a tasty pile of battered fish (need a drool emoticon).

Now if I can just get through 5 more days of work with a 2 day break in between so that I can have another 12 days off.

nice report. I'm glad you talked to the man abusing his priviledge to fish. That was very selfish (?) of him. It is annoying to watch someone abusing his abilities.
