Big Rideau Lake Trout outing (pics)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Sometimes the regs dont jive with other info...This weekend we were going to fish Almonte by the falls and the regs said 2nd Sat in May, but when we got there a sign said something about 1st Sat in June??? Also what the heck is this...Mississippi River - Pakenham Twp.,
between the falls in the Town of
Almonte and upstream side of bridge
on Lanark County Road 20.
Fish sanctuary - no fishing from
Mar. 1 - Fri. before 2nd Sat. in May.

But that sign??? We decided better safe than sorry and went to Pakenham...good choice  ....

Or what does about this...Mississippi River - Drummond Twp.,
from 79.2 m (260 ft.) east to 240.8 m
(790 ft.) west of Main Street.
Fish sanctuary - closed all year.

Is this easy to understand or is it just me.( Now easy on the jokes with that question) .

And very nice fish...I still remember catching bows with my father when I was that age.

Nice fish! Your son must of been very happy. I was out Sat & Sun. We did manage our limit both days. All of them around 2-5pds. Where I was, there must of been 20-25 boats out and on Sun at least 25 boats in a small area. I did see some fish caught, but no huge ones. The fish we caught were in 180fow but 35-55ft down. It was nice to see this season open!
