Canal Lake has been an exception for about 18 years...or as long as I can remember. I spent several thousand hours pre fishing and fishing tournaments in the Kawarthas and never once saw, caught or heard of a Pike being caught.....until recently in Balsam.

Lotsa great Pike action in Mississippi Lake as I previously mentioned... or even White Lake near Ottawa. Great ammenities, nice scenery and the fishing oppertunities are excellent in early summer.

Good luck with the Pike in those 3 days in May

hey slop, ya white lake can be awesome for pike. and bass.

um. i always get Chandos mixed up. it used to be considered part of the northern kawarthas, but now it's called sumtin else. 'cept it's still called part of the kawarthas by Peterborough/Kawarthas tourism. very confusing to a simple soul like me.

my personal best comes from chandos (16.8 lbs), my blrother has a 19.4. we've seen 22s and heard of a 25.

there's a spring pike tourney run by Gilmour Bay Marina . I highly recommend it ... great time. :D :D :D
