BOQ Picton Report - Jan 5, 2007

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Funny story about guessing weight...

With tournament fishing you get real good at judging weights quickly when you net the fish. On Sunday Badger Shark asked what the fish weighed when I brought Jackle's over the side of the boat, I looked at him and said 11lbs. Then after a quick picture Jackle asked if they can weigh the fish. I said sure...we put it on the scale and the fish was 11.3lbs.

Pictures do nothing for the size of these fish, also you have to hold them parallel with the camera or the fish look short. The size of the individual holding the fish will also make them look different in size.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I really enjoyed the outing with Sheldon, and getting out with a good frined Jamie.

I updated the report with the picture of Jamie's big one.

I think I will have to book Sheldon for a Picton trip every year now :D

Ummm..... is it November yet ? :)

Mr. T. wrote:Sorry I should have posted more clearly but I was trying to say that not everybody needs to take out a scale and measure every fish caught.

I don't dispute the 10 pounders.

I will go back to my corner. 8)

Thanks.
I do not think it is really neccesary to hang every fish on a scale. After catching alot of fish you can have a pretty good guess at what a fishes length and weight is
