Anyone fishing petrie island This week end?

How many of you use wire leaders for pike/walleye/muskie and how many don't. I am a convert to using Flurocarbon leaders in the 20 -40 lb range and attaching directly to a lure with the "Rapala Knot" This rig gives the best possible lure motion along with an invisible line. In all honesty the fishing is much better and I have yet to lose a fish from a broken/cut leader. It might take a little longer to set up and you can't just clip on/ and clip off lures....but I think it is worth the effort. For those of you using wire leaders with surface lures this is a must. A wire leader will drag down the nose of most surface lures and greatly hurt the action.

My buddies cottage is on the Ottawa river in Wendover, so that's one of my reason. The water is clear on the Ottawa unless we get rain and if there is rain then where the Nation drops into the Ottawa then the water is like chocolate milk . And i usually troll the mudlines.
