Anybody see Fish'n Canada lately...whats with the new host!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I have always liked FNC show the best, especially Pete. I agree, I like the shows he does alone best. But change is good sometimes, I'll have to wait and see the new episodes.

I liked the WWF when I was about 10. Although on a good day I am built like a brick sh!thouse  , I always preferred to perceive angling as something I more than less used my brains for, not my brawn.

These I'm sooooo f#$king cool an angler shows where egos are on the lines more than fish and insight... well they suck, and they're for the same 10 year old WWF fans.

Bowman's great though ain't he. Wish he'd do it alone. Most of the shows I find best are one host shows. (with their guest) No "I've got the big dink syndrome" in the boat and for the camera. Classic example... Leo.

My $0.01.

BTW Don, love how we can always count on you for a pic. :D
Well I must say that if they are getting more 10 year olds interested in fishing as much as WWE then it can only be a good thing. I wish there was shows geared towards youth when I was growing up. Maybe then my buddies in high school would be fishing buddies right now, not just partyers!

Mike Miller was in with Karl[extreme]
on the first version.
Now it seems that there
is an attempt to duplicate
the hiphop fishin[Canada] gangstah show bandwagon.

yeh i'm sure pete, reno, and ange are way hip.........
hop.

The photo promo images[imho] are kinda humorous/tough guy...but so is hip hop
BUT >>>BUT>>>BUT

and way less corporate..

What the hell is that supposed to mean? You think it's a bad thing to get kids interested in fishing?

Maybe sitting on a quiet boat and acting all business is just FOR SOME REASON not entertaining to a younger generation and perhaps we should cater to them, make fishing look like something fun that they can do.

I think Bunk meant "typical" in the sense that its typical for kids that age to be partying. I personally like Pete too but seeing as the show is going in this direction.... Lets hope it doesn't get too rediculous.

I was on the Last Cull also, and I have to admit that I was neither impresed by Mike Miller's angling skills nor his attitude. He knowingly broke the rules during competition and his personality is pretty abbrasive.

Him and Pete have been friends for a while and the whole 'concept' of the first show is pretty lame. The language and attitude is stupid. Also the 'staged' story lines are ridiculous. IS this what hosts do when they really aren't that knowledagble fishermen?

You never see Al Linder, Shaw Grigsby, Hank Parker or so many other well respected anglers behaving like that, because they have class, and they don't need gimics.

Very risky move of FNC to rip off the Extreme Angler ( a good show by the way), they will continue to lose the respect of anglers across the board with stupid behaviour and business practices such as this.

Ohhhhhhh Richypoo :P  :P Don't let your FTL's ride to far up yer crack now, you're still a funny youngin' that I enjoy seeing on the web. I just found what you said ironic being that only a couple weeks back you were going on about how the media and things like TV don't influence behaviours, and now, you're saying the opposite in that these new fishing shows will recruit younger viewers to the sport. Now I'll be honest, not everything is black and white and I'll sit in the grey on alot of things too, but this morning I just got a kick out of your response.

If Roddy Toddy's Full Contact Fish-O-Meter is what tickles your sphincter and gets ya hard bud, have it. I'll be gettin' my serving of TV fish come saturday morning with some ham and eggs and a side of "civility." :D

PS, don't be mad now, I like your new avatar and have caught 3 of your new 5 fishing episodes. Which by the way, aren't so "EXTREME" dude... and that's why I kinda like them.

Just saw the new episode. Looks like they tried to copy the Orange county chopper's show. With the scripted angst and stupid lines. Their fishermen, not actors and that is obvious. I can't say i liked it at all. No redeming factor to cling to.
And did they add hook set sound effects before and extra splash when the fish jumps?

And kids, swearing does make you cooler.
cause you can't have a good show without it.

I'll probably tune in again to see if they stick with this crap but i'm hoping it settles down.
