WHERE ARE YOU HEADED FOR BASS OPENER?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Lingam Lake for the opener every year! Little more work than going in my back yard on the BoQ but that is half the fun  .

Not sure if it's the same lake fishmaster is talking about, but if I can make it to Lake Clear for opener, I'll be pretty happy about that! :)

cheers,

Bass Opener

Post by Seaweed »

Thanks for the heads up Ben

YOu are right... I think. I will phone the MNR and find out for sure... the regs do say that but I know that in Quebec it opens on June 24 so ... legally I could fish in Quebec side of the river... like in Lochabar and MacLarens Bay.

Hey Tallpaul, I'm talking about Lake Clear near Foymount. It is awsome for smallies during the late summer but I have never been there for the opener. I hope to get in to some pigs there. :D I spent a few days there this fall and I got in to some really nice walleye in the same spots as the smallies. I hope this lake doesn't get pounded to bad because it is really doing well :?

Probably nowhere. I like to relax when I fish. Opening day is like a zoo at the launches & on the water. I'll probably go to Long Point on the Sunday.

For the bass opener I'll be fishing sturgeon most likely... but even more likely walleye on the Moose. A couple days after the opener I'll be fishing sturgeon again, but more likely pike and walleye on a few little fly-in lakes north of Cochrane.

Bass will open for me maybe sometime around september, but with soooo many better species I can wait. :P  :P
