Quick trip up the Moose and French.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

We're a hunter gatherer type teepeehold society FFF, Bren ain't picking too many berries in the morning frosts and as Markus said, I'm busy. But Mark, walrus was so last week, I'm after narwhale now. The $$$ for that ivory is great.

Thanks DrB. It's funny, but a few people jokingly call me Dr.B around the office too. :D

Nothing worse then hooking the ones you love. Did it to my three year old, in the arm...in the end I yanked it out too. Makes me cringe just thinking about it. :(
...anything to bend the rod

Sheeesh bud. I gotta little worked up with a toughie like Bren, if it had of been one of the wee ones I'd have been crying more than them probably.

Sorry to hear... umm read.

Moosebunk wrote:Sunday I took Bren out for a fish and we caught nothing. Well, that's not true, I caught her with two hooks into her scalp with a floating rapala. Half hour careful surgery, followed by an "ahhhh feck it" quick yank to get the two hooks out, and my bleeding babe gave me a hug and let me fish some more.
You trying to make sure a Misses Moosebunk doesn't end up taking residense in the first mates seat.
Maybe if I impail her, she won't want to come fishing.

Brenda, I'm shipping you up some hockey equipment to wear on your next outting.

Like you Bunk, I love the fall pike. They make great filler between muskies (around here) and hit anything and everything that goes past them this time of year.

Bunk,
Loved the pics and report. Sorry to hear about the accidental hook-up. I've been in that predicament over the years, and am glad I read Homer Circle's article back in the 70's. It has helped me save some companions from pain and possibly more serious injury. Three of these were scalp extractions and two were hand and arm. It is a quick and painless method, and with the application of suitable antiseptic, leaves no scar. It doesn't sound like you do this often, thank God, but it might be a good idea to read up on it.

You are sooo wrong bud. I want her in the boat as much as she's willing to endure the "Run and Gun," the tantrums and cussing, the stinky baits and whatever piddle poor weather this armpit of the earth can sweat at her. The Fishheadz is a wicked idea though, hockey helmets might not leave enough protection for those two eyes we just paid to have lazer'd.

When you get a 20ft boat a float you'll realize there should be enough room for 2 to fish safely.... should be. The missus doesn't need the Minkota, she doesn't require padding on the seats, she just needs to keep her head out of my lures way, have fun, and keep her card handy in case we feel like going over the limit.
