keeping worms alive

I've got about 5 dozen worms in my worm box in the fridge./ They are still very healthy and lively.

Other than keepig them cool and moist, is there anything that I can add to them to give them food/nutrients??

sprinkle cornmeal on top or coffee grounds are also good..

A buddy of mine keeps saying if you throw half a worm back into the container, it will kill the other worms. I think he's crazy!

Anyone else heard of this?

Im almost sure I have a couple or more half worms mixed in with my batch of nightcrawlers.Doesn't seen to affect them at all.
