Smythwyck Rogue eye colour

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Smythwyck Rogue eye colour

Post by Scumking »

I was going thru my stuff for the Walleye opener. Can anyone recall what what the red and yellow eyes mean on the Smythwyck rogues.I think the yellow is the suspending but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Rogues

Post by grumpy7790 »

Scumking,
At the Bassmasters University, Mark Menendez showed a trick where he takes a floating rogue and converts it to suspending.

He crimps an egg sinker around the front treble and then adds lead tape just under the lip where it molds into the body of the bait.

He said the floats have a better sound chamber and rattles then the suspending rogues. He also said the modified bait suspends head down which better simulates a dying bait.
