Inconnu

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Just curious if anyone has ever had the chance of hooking one of these fish, and what was the fight like if ya did??? :?

Just had a chance to read a "very" little about them and thought they were kind of elusively cool. :D

Whitefish are one of the best fighting fresh-water fish pound-for-pound (through the ice anyways) I can just imagine what their 20 pound cousins fight like   :? :D .

I wish.

I caught a few north of Great Bear Lake back in the 70s. They fought well but I wouldn't say any better than the lake trout that live in the rivers of the north. Certainly not a tough as Arctic Char. Grabbing a char is like trying to hold onto a writhing peice of slippery steel. Your fingers don't even make a dent in its skin.
I looked a little for a pic of the Inconnu but have moved several times since. Pics didn't seem as important then. More so now that the memory is starting to fade.
