Saw this today and was wondering if anyone has ever tried one of these propellers as any improvement would be good.

to those suffering with motorguides in the weeds
New props for electrics
I have never heard of them.
Quite frankly though I never seem to get too badly bogged down in the weeds as long as I keep the speed at max in the thick stuff. I found this to be the same with my Minn Kota also though... if you tried to cut your way through at low speeds you just end up with a bail of weed on the stick.
Just looking at those new props though I wouldn`t hold out much hope for total weedless running. Not a sharp enough edge.

The Kipawas are getting good reviews especially on MG's.

It seems they
produce more power so you save battery life?
Anyone here use the Jen-Su blade the cuts the wrapped weeds?

Another product with the same concept as the jen-su just came out recently as well(link below). Many motorguides now have a flared end which I think may effect the mounting and usefulness of them but may work on the non-flared units.
I think I will try the minn kota prop as it appears a few have tried them and were impressed by the results. Kipawa is an option although quite expensive by the time you get it here-36 u.s. list and shipping from the states(over 60.00 cdn).

No such thing
Spinner there's no such thing as a motorguide sufferer, and if your post is a veiled plug for another make of trolling motor so be it.
The truth is that Minn- Kota props do perform better[ but not in all applications] when altered to fit Motor Guide and it does not take a lot to convert them dremel tool works fine and takes about 5 minutes to change them over Another thing or trick that helps to lessen weed build up is to firmly attach a very inexpensive jig saw ceiling tile cutting blade between the housing and prop. You will of course have to sharpen it every now and then
The main problem with most props be they plastic or aluminum is keeping a sharp edge on them, I for one never seen a prop that generated power
but I have seen and use a composite 4blade ninja with surgicaly sharp stainless steel lobes, custom made of course and done locally he also makes a completely stainless prop both of which require extreme caution
These props are mainly for the more seriously minded slop fishermen
If you or anyone else would like more info on these props PM me and I will gladly give you his name and phone#

Do you know what's really funny I met Bacon at the show and we had a similar conversation about Minn-Kota props on Motorguide motors and I remember having a similar conversation with you at least 2 yrs. ago
