Just a note and heads up for those that may fall into any of these categories and are not in possession of a fishing license as those in these categories are not required to purchase one

A was sceptical about that but that is what the regulations say. I would imagine a CO with better things to do would not bother 12 year olds or olds guys with their drivers licences.
These days, its not a good idea to carry around SIN cards or birth certificates. Get your wallet stolen and see how long it takes to get replacements, or what can happen when somebody steals your identity.

I had no idea that if you have a parking permit that ou don't need afishing licence. What are the restrictions when doing so?? Is it the same limits as a 'sport' licence or is it the reduced quota of the 'conservation' licence?
My dad's been buying his for the last couple years even though he has the parking permit for his condition.
Thanks

Spinner I know for fact the over 65 folks must also still have their outdoors card and must also show their Seniors card, I do not know about the others .spinner wrote:Just a note and heads up for those that may fall into any of these categories and are not in possession of a fishing license as those in these categories are not required to purchase one

Tony G,
that you have mentioned
Re: Important regulations info to be aware of
I have to disagree with you on that one Tony as the regs, in my opinion, clearly state that a license is not required but I do suggest that if anyone has concerns they can call the MNR for their own clarificationTony G. wrote:Spinner I know for fact the over 65 folks must also still have their outdoors card and must also show their Seniors card, I do not know about the others .spinner wrote:Just a note and heads up for those that may fall into any of these categories and are not in possession of a fishing license as those in these categories are not required to purchase one

Re: Important regulations info to be aware of
I understand what you are saying Tony and it's possible they accept the seniors card and outdoors card; I don't personally know. I'm not denying that they will accept those but you had written that they must also still have their outdoors card and must also show their Seniors card and that is where I disagreed as I believe that the birth certificate is enough on it's own.Tony G. wrote:
Hi Spinner, please read my postI never even mentioned anything about a license
I am into my second year of not having to buy a license,
but I still have to buy an outdoors card and if and when I get stopped by the MNR produce it along with my seniors card yes they will accept my birth certificate as proof of age.
Tony G.
I stated that seniors in my opinion only need their birth certificate as stated in the regs to be legal and personally that is what I would carry if I were a senior unless I verified for myself that other ID is acceptable in it's place as you may have done yourself.
That's all I have to say on this.
Hope that clears it up
Have a great day

I also heard DNA swabs will be taken for submitting to carbon-14 dating.
What about the Lures 2cm or smaller (in any direction) and contain more than 1 % lead by weight?

I emailed the ministry about the Outdoors Card question for 65 and older, as well as 18 and under. I also asked if it was expected for my 9 yr old grandson to carry his birth certificate.
I suggested that maybe the ministry should issue special cards for youth, valid until their 18th birthday, and special seniors cards valid until death.
I will post the answers as I get them.
