Actually, from what I've read-
After one full year a muskie will reach 12-14" in length and weigh approx. 2 pounds.
It takes 5 years for a muskie to reach 30".
They grow fast
, but not THAT fast.
Maybe someone could do a web search and confirm? I gotta go to work now.

DV-8, Looks to be a small tiger maybe, spots on the tails and fins suggest so. Hard to tell being as though its so tiny.

DV_8 - Looks like a Norther to me. They are real colourful when they are youngens.

I agree with bassstaker, looks like a northern to me too. Actually it looks a lot like the one my neighbor caught.

Taken from article HW posted
Theoretically female muskellunge can grow to 68 inches and 73.5 pounds?
Now, if that doesn't get your heart pumpin.
Reminiscing back a couple of years to the 54" I caught in Wendover, may have been 20+ years old ... WOW!

Definitely not a pike. 99% sure it's just a regular Musky. Very cute. Kinda like Big-o's puddy tat

A pike would have horizontal stripes would it not? Just looking at some of the pics in the galleries.

Heres a pike with true pike colours
Ken I think you're right, note striped fins not spotted, spotted body not striped. That said the MNR says both fish can share these traits, so without seeing the underside of the jaw nothing is definitive.

Floatinator,
That's a dark colored one; pretty markings.
W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
