Muskrat Lake

Hey Guys,
Heading to Muskrat Lake for the first time this weekend to fish for Lakers. Any tips or intel on which area is best to start trolling in? I found an older post referencing D5 and E5 for pike and walleye.

I think most of the deeper water is out from the main boat launch.

Thanks Smitty. How does Muskrat compare to Charleston? I've heard there is a lot of baitfish here so the fish tend to be bigger, but sometimes the bite is really off.

I'm a huge fan of Charleston Lake, seeing as the shield juts down there it reminds me more of being up north with tons of structure and deep rocky clearer water with lots of islands and different sections of the lake where you can always get out of the wind. Great swimming too unlike Muskrat that gets those blooms most years.

Five hours of trolling from Mcnaughton Bay up to the Snake river on the sturgeon mountain side. No fish and not even anything I would count as a bite. I was marking tonnes of fish though and had my downriggers set to about 60-70 feet in 100-120 feet of water. That was a long one.

For now I'll be sticking with Charleston or some smaller lakes I've had better luck at on the Quebec side. Here's one from a week ago.
