GOVAN LAKE

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

GOVAN LAKE

Post by Bigcvin »

Hey Guys, we're planning a boys camping trip to Govan Lake in the Frontenac area. I'm just wondering if anyone has been up Arcol Road to Govan and launched by the camp sites in the last couple years. We're looking to get an 18' bass boat and 17' deep V down the road and into that lake. Or is it more of a small tinny launch? Any information would be appreciated greatly.

Had a 19' deep vee in Govan a couple of years ago.
Came off the bunks easy.
Nit so good going back on.
Bit of a fight.
Going in on Wednesday this week but smaller boats.
Bass boat should be fine.
bigger boat with a roller trailer should work too.
Mitch.

I was past Govan from the Bogie side last week. That trail is brutal but from the Arcol side, should be no problem with a bigger boat. Winter fished it a few times and did just fine on the wallys.

Was camped at Govan on the 15th and 16th.
Have an F-250 with a slide in camper.
Some washouts had been repaired. A few culverts need some more work but if you take it easy, it shouldn't be too bad.
I didn't have any problem getting in or out.
Also went in from Calabogie.
Most trucks should have plenty of ground clearance but cars would be sketchy.
Mitch.
