Can't find Ottawa area crappie

I have put some serious hours in this spring crappie fishing with a little success fished the Rideau, Ottawa and Mississippi. One day on the Rideau was alright. Fished everything from shallow bays creek mouths and transition spots from deep water to shallow and sparse weeds. Not looking for any spots but some pointers how to narrow my time searching down. I fish walleye and lakers for the most part so this crappie fishing has me puzzled. Any help is appreciated.

I haven't fished crappie in years. However, we used to jig minnows near fallen trees. We would use a hook and split shot and vertical jig right around trees in the water. That is how I would start out and go from there. I would think you would get a few bass this way as well. Let us know if you find something that works.
