Whats the bite like on the St Lawrence?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Whats the bite like on the St Lawrence?

Post by familyfishingfun »

I was out five times just after the season opener with limited success...
Just wondering if the fish have gone deeper in and around Cardinal? Or should I be thinking about the Ottawa near Petrie Island?

I want to bring my three boys out which means I need to catch fish to keep them interested... Any suggestions?

So far, a 3 lbs and a 7 lbs... for about 30 hours of fishing...

Thank everyone?

Well, i went out Saturday afternoon with my three boys to Cardinal and we had good luck bottom bouncing with worm harnesses...
We caught one perch, two smallies and one 18" walleye. The boys were just as happy as Christmas morning! The fish went into the livewell and the boys compared who the best fisherman was... Great day!

Still looking for other peoples experiences to share for some good family fishing fun... Lol

Thanks
