So far it is one of those years

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

So far it is one of those years

Post by evan14 »

As a bank fisherman I am at the mercy of many factors and some seasons I start out hot with huge fish brought to my feet every other cast. Not this one so far....been out 5 times on my bike in Ottawa. Tried all my go to techniques. Put 225 kms on the new wheels. Hit every spot in the city I know. 0 fish. Had one biiiiiig pike get to 5 feet away and pop up.

Anyone else having a hard start?

Anyone want to hit the banks this weekend?

Anyone want to share some secrets with me?

My legs are tired, anyone want a buddy to split gas to drive to new spots?

I am going to keep hitting the banks every night after work and will start reporting when I have something to report.

If anyone likes biking and wants a buddy, or if anyone really does want someone to split gas/bait costs with let me know. I am free most weekends. I also have a bunch of guns and land to shoot em on if anyone wants to trade fishing tips for skeet shooting lol.

Have a great season everyone!

Same thing here. My son and I have been out twice now shore fishing and only got 1 nibble on trip 1 and one 6" bluegill (no other bites) on trip 2. There were lots of other people around that night and I didn't notice anyone else pulling anything out of the water either. And this was at a spot where we couldn't keep 2 rods in the water on most trips last season it was so busy, just fish after fish after fish. Not so much so far this year  We'll be out again this weekend, hopefully with something better to report!

Sorry to hear

Been out twice for carp and had success both times.

But for 4 years prior I always got skunked....every time.

Its a weird year lads. The eyes are still full of eggs.

Give it a bit and she'll turn on good.

Persistence WILL pay off.

Let's hope we all feel some strikes soon. I feel so discouraged :(

Don't worry about it. Eventually they will bite.
