Papineau Labelle Lakes for Trout

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Papineau Labelle Lakes for Trout

Post by pchilli1 »

All,

Looking to book two days in Papineau-Labelle park/reserve for May 2014.

I see a rustic cabin on Lac Hydroplane is available but the lake is unknown to me. Has anyone fished it before?

If anyone has input to a good lake to fish in the reserve please send me a pm. We will be a party of 6 people hence why i looked into the cabin option. It is not a necessity and we are open to tenting on a lake as well.

Cheers,

P (Hi Adam).

I found this page out there and it is chalker-blocked full of info on the Parc and fishing hunting etc.

http://www.sepaq.com/rf/pal/information.dot

You will have to make a call though because to me it looks like it is closed all winter and only opens up in early May each year.

Looks like a nice spot to visit for sure though. Enjoy

Thanks,

Part of the issue is there are so many opportunities (good thing I guess) which is why I was looking for some direction.

Also, any idea whether you can pay the park fees and set up shop on one of the lakes for a few nights with tents? Can't find any info other than cabin rental or just day fishing.

HI,
May through early June is the prime time to fish in Papineau-Labelle. There are excellent lakes for brook trout and lake trout. I see on the SEPAQ web site that there is still some regular cabins available in May.
I've been to Papineau-Labelle several times. Send me a PM and let me know which area of the park you are looking for and species (lake trout or brookies) and I'll try to help.
