Autumn Rush Report.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I showed my son your gar pics.

I think your his HERO!

I second that sentiment for sure. You for sure have the work/life/play balance well co-ordinated.

Again always a stellar read and another great year for you!

Thanks again Jimmy. My youngest told me after Quinte this year that of walleye trolling, walleye jiggin, pike, speck, laker and panfish fishing that gar are her favorite. While my oldest would sit and read a book and maybe fish a little, my youngest Leah liked staying perched up on deck looking out in the water with the "magical" polarized glasses to see everything that swims on by. For now though gar are a long way off and it's almost feeling like time to think ice, while having begun to plan for next years bigger trips.

Oddly my daughter floored me by requesting to go out for musky!
Sadly scheduling issues prevented that from happening this past season :(
I will have to rectify that this year. She likes the early mornings for lakers too!

My son on the other hand is a GAR die-hard! School projects on them and constantly googling them.
We went fishing for them in Florida last March break and sadly only hooked two (small gator gar and a small spotted gar) but apart from the Manatee that visited the boat for a petting nothing really came to the boat (sea trout and a small blue fish). Although one gar nearly ripped the rod out of my sons hand and one snapped a #3 hook on my dad. They get BIG in the south lol!

Well yes ice is starting, vex is charging and plans are being made to hopefully ice some more memories this year!
But I know we will for sure be planning some gar outings (my son and I).

Looking forward to your ice reports!

Do you bake those sheephead or deep-fry them?

The weather is turning and I am almost ready to stop deer hunting and find all the hard water gear. But a SMASHER of a buck is haunting my stands and my dreams and there are still 19 days of bow season. Plus my Marcum charger is TU and the new one isn't here yet.........

Thanks for the day out for fall bass, it's always a pleasure!

Sweet report and pics again!!

Methinks Bunk and Doug as ingredients in the same pan is a recipe for an adventure! (But leave the sheepshead on the side)

As for the elusive Buck, 2nd rut is on buddy!! G'luck!
