Spring Trouting with pic's

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Spring Trouting with pic's

Post by Mike P »

It sure is nice having F-H back up and running. Thought I'd share some outings with pic's.
As soon as possible I like to head down to Lk Ont for some brown trout fishing. Fishing was a little harder this year with the weather and winds. Made it down a few times and was lucky enough to drive back with-out a skunk in the truck. Even made it out on a solo trip.

Some Browns,

As the ice breaks up on local lakes it's time for laker's and splake,

When the bugs start I switch over to specks and bow's. I must of been behind the stocking truck on a few lakes this year. Caught and released too many to count, they were though-out the lakes. Small but fun with the fly.

Yesturday Hook-n-Shoot was down for the week and we decided to give the gar a go. Things were slow for the first two hours, but we started to put things together and ended up boating over a dozen along with hooking into an OOS musky.

With spring sliding away and summer approaching, lakers, salmon and musky will be the order.

Wicked report Mike - I bet some great adventures came out of getting on all those beautyfish. Spring sure took its time but it is settling in nicely - great to see you take advantage.

Like that summer line-up you've got planned. :)

Don't want to let the gar overshadow those awesome splake in this report, as they are beauties. Nicely done... and I see Chaps is back in action too. :D

To catch those toothies on the fly takes an extra skill set and certainly more patience and determination. I remember now you admitting to wanting to make that happen Mike, so this end result must feel great. All you man! Good one for Hn'S too. 8)

Some great looking fish right there
No matter how many fish I land, it's ones that got away I think about most. :']
