ok so me and my dad are looking for a place to go for my 17th birthday. Looking for a lodge within 4 hours of ottawa. We want to fish for big walleye, big bass and big pike. We would be staying about 3 days and want a comfortable place. birthday is mid april, but will go anytime there is good fishing, spring, summer, doesnt matter
My brother in law went here this summer.
Said it was good. Biggest pike they got was 17 lbs.... and his gang doesn't know their butt from their elbow...
Hi
You should try the West end of Lake Nipissing and the Upper French River. These waters have large and smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Pike and also Musky. There are many reasonably priced camps in the area. Look
them up on the internet. In Ontario this is the closest you are going to get to "remote" and still have good fishing as well. The best time to go is the opening week of Bass season. ood luck
Temagami also has some 'remote' areas, just over 4hrs, lots of smallies, walleye and lakers, I think pike are more confined to the southern end, but lots of great lodges there too, I'd also second the French River idea . . .

If you are going with your Pop, you fish on his license, but you have to be with him and you share the same possession limit; it is per license on per person.
Not too far and access to MANY lakes. Charly drives you in usually to whatever lake your want and is a great fisherman in his own right!!
Been to Stoney Lake (Pine Vista Lodge) and loved it.
One big thing for you and dad to consider. Most lodges book for a week during their "prime time" If you want to book 3-4 days I suspect it would be almost impossible during the summer. Spring or fall "off peak" times you would stand a much better chance at a 3-4 day outing. If it was me, I'd do a fall trip. Every fish is putting on the feed-bag to fatten up for winter.
Start looking now. Lodges are starting to book for 2011. Most lodges allow people that stayed at their resort in 2010 first dibbs on same week next year.
Another option would be a fly-in trip. If you haven't flown in a Beaver, you haven't lived.
Only one place to go for big eyes, Bay of Quinte, checkout Westlake Willows, nice place to stay, G2 Angling would certainly put you on fish if you dont have a boat and want a guide!
