Ice fishing on Silver Lake.
Ice fishing on Silver Lake.
I have been out ice-fishing on silver lake a couple of times, my girlfriend caught a nice Laker two years ago through the ice.
Me and some guys from work are planning an ice fishing trip to silver lake, January 2nd. I am just wondering if anyone is willing to part ways with a little advice, or tips at catching Lakers on Silver?
I unfortunately do not have a flasher, so we will be fishing "blind". However, I figure I will fish off bottom, and than vary the depth to try and find them. Tips would be welcome!
**Edit**
What are the rules/etiquate on frying up fish on the ice? We are brining a portable stove, and plan on frying up some fish that we catch. I assume that we have to keep the carcass, as proof to a game warden. Is eating fish as you catch them legal? thanks

Yes, as long as you count any consumed fish towards your daily posession limit.

Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.

Hey Andrew,
Don't worry about not having a flasher on Silver. There's so much contour in that lake with slope and boulders that there'd be a lot of 'blind spots' on your flasher anyhow.
Besides which, if you've caught fish there in the past, you know where to go and how to catch 'em. Go get 'em.
