It would probably depend on the individual CO and how he interpets the rules
In my area two of the CO's say they must be a tent entirely made of fabric and cant be left on the ice unatended
I was checking in regard to one with plywood floor and ends and a tarp roof and sides this is when I was told it had to be entirely made of fabric.
Some CO's know what is portable, and some would crawl across a mile of broken glass to give their mother a ticket

What I received from the Kemptville MNR is this.
If the structure is permanetly located on the same lake though out the season it needs to be registered.
If it is a form of permanent shack i.e wood etc and is not easily moved it is classed as a permanent shack.
If the shack is less than 100lbs and requires no permanent footings it is a portable.
The registration number will need to be called in any time you move to a new lake with a registered shack.
Now as we say all the time ask 3 CO's this question today and again in a week and see if the answers are the same.

Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.
