I am pumped that one of our favourite pike holes is plenty safe for fishing. 6" of nice black ice. A friend and I had a couple hours free this afternoon so we set out after some pike and perch.
Fished from 2pm to 415pm, caught 2 perch, 3 pike and both missed a fish. But the catch of the day was a beauty 34", 9lb pike. It took several long runs on me, awesome fight!
Can't wait to get out again!

Nice pic. Hoping to get out tomorrow!!
May the holes in your net be
no larger than the fish in it!

Hey - good to see a report from Splake Hunter again!
Nice pike - and glad to hear the ice is thickening.
I'm raring to go but the deeper lakes are still open - soon... soon...

Thanks everyone! It was a solid fight! Made my day!
O4T: Ya, to be honest besides a nice smallie in August and a nice walter in October, I didn't have any post worthy outings in the boat
Hopefully I have some more ice posts this season.
Be careful out there!

Good Stuff.
