Trolling motor stolen-heads up

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Trolling motor stolen-heads up

Post by Troller »

Hello all,

I had my trolling motor stolen at a dock on White Lake within the last week. The lock was cut off. The particulars are MINN-KOTA. 55 LB THRUST bow mount foot pedal control; serial number MKAC2122657 FROM 2002. There is also a police report. The marina where I keep he boat will be checking their video tapes as well. I do not want to name the marina because it is not their fault. These thefts happen all of the time and can happen anywhere. Just be careful if you are buying anything second hand as it might be stolen property. Perhaps take the serial number down and check it. If their in no serial number then your question is answered and it probably was stolen.

Let's work together as the great fishing community that we are to put these bottom-dwelling creeps out of business.

crap deal! I actually just changed my 'otor Guide lock last night from a traditional ''U'' lock to a lock just like the onse you put on your trailer hitch. I saw this tip on WFN a couple of days ago, it leaves no room for bolt cutters...

Hope they find who and wish you a 5 minutes alone time in a secluded field with the guy(s) who took your motor!

Cheers,

Well maybe that's why opp were cruising the parking lot at the quality inn last nite,he even drove by my house while I was removing mine from my boat. Sorry to hear that,I have quick release mounts for my motorguides, they go in the house with the rods and reels.

Sorry to hear this man ... hope it turns up for you.

I had to file a report about a month ago, some stole my 1/2 full gas tank out of the back of my boat....just when I had planned a fishing trip that afternoon. Had to cancel, but did manage to find it after taking a walk around the neighbourhood. They stashed it under some brush, I guess to come back later to pick it up ... but I found it first !

Hey Chris,

Just saw 3 OPP on Division & River Rd. - had a truck and camper pulled over - 3 people in hand-cuffs .. . something was going down. At first I thought it was a RIDE program, until the officer didn't stop us at the intersection, then I saw the people in cuffs.
