Hi All,
I'm new here, and just moved back to Ottawa after several years away. I'm hoping some of you can offer suggestions on where to take my grandfather fishing.
He's in his mid-eighties so he isn't up for long car rides, boat rides, or hikes in. But he gave me my start fishing, and I'd love to return the favour by taking him out now.
I'm looking for somewhere near Ottawa (<1 hr drive) where we could just drive up and fish for shore. Bass and sunfish would be alright, but I'd love to find a spot where we could fish the main channel of a river with a bottom bouncer and worm harness. I did this all the time on the Detroit River and it was a ton of fun.
Ideally, I'm hoping for somewhere along the Ottawa River where there's a flat, open shoreline within casting distance of deep water, but that might be too much to ask. Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Tight lines,
Nick
