Kids fishing

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Kids fishing

Post by Stinger95 »

Hi guys, I run some summer camps here in the city(westboro area), and am looking to take a group of kids fishing from shore somewhere within biking distance. Im thinking of taking them to mudd lake or maybe brittania beach, and am wondering if anyone out there knows of a kid friendly spot where the kids can potentiall catch some pan fish,

Thanks everyone,

Billy

It's not one of the spots you mentioned, and the water was pretty low last time I went, but Petrie Island is panfish central. Easy to get to, baitshop right there, and a beach for afterwards.

With the low water levels, shorefishing along the Ottawa is tough. But what about Westboro Beach area? There is a small weed patch to the west of the beach area, but I'm not sure what is to the east.

There's a bay right at the end of Parkdale Ave, east of the parking lot, that has some really deep holes, right along shore. Should be good for pannies.

Might be a little far for a bunch of kids on bikes but Dow's Lake has pannies.
