Thanks CBAF!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Thanks for having your opener on Cranberry & Dog lake. I really appreciate the dozens of big, dead bass floating around by my dock. It's really nice that you guys practice dead release. You're a testament to the sport.

That sucks.

But before you blame an organization a lot of the responsibility lies with the anglers themselves.....

My partner and I have already made plans for our event this weekend on Newboro to ensure our fish arrive at the dock alive and with the live release boat at the ready get returned safely for the folks who enjoy the lake after we leave.

Yeah well as an organization they planned this pretty poorly. Weigh-in was at the marina in Seeley's Bay, they were out in dog lake in the deeper parts catching bass. I'm just guessing it was over-inflated swim bladders that killed them. Then they just release clearly dying bass in 5' of water.
nice one.

I haven't even checked the area closer to the marina yet, but I'm betting there's dozens more rotting bass there. What pee pee me off most is that they were all BIG BIG bass.

I don't want to argue with you but how do you know where the fish were caught? I'll wager 95% of what you are seeing is largemouth and they rarely have to deal with swim bladder issues.....

Go get some pictures and send an email off to the CBAF......yakking about it on here will solve nothing but end up in a locked thread.

AGREED....

Not to argue either...but DOZENS???

We did a tourney on the Ottawa this past Saturday and 1 team had 1 dead bass in the 1lb range....everyone else was lived released well...including Dave Westerns BEAUTIFUL 5.57lb MONSTER (we watched him catch 100 yrds away! :x )

So that would mean a lot of CBAF teams killed off a lot of fish with a 4-5 fish limit...largies are pretty hardy...I can't see it....sorry.
I fish when SHE lets me!!!

What a waste. How do they get away with it - no MNR around?

Where do they release the fish - right in Seeleys Bay?
