Muskie outing Friday.......and the bearings on my baitcasting reel are shot!!!!!! Any suggestions as to where I can just pick up the bearings? I can replace them myself!
what make is the reel? can usually order rite from the company and get the parts u need. if its shimano call the office in peterborough and they are really good with stuff like that, quantum has a repair office in orillia called rockys tackle repair, they also service other makes.
easiest thing, just look online for repair centers for the make of ur reel. or go to a local tackle shop and they can usually get ya what ya need too.
Personally i'd recommend you order better quailty bearings from vxb than going to the manufacture. If the ones you have are worn out already they were probably inferior to begin with. It depends on what the reel is worth too.
Many people actually upgrade their bearings in new reels for something better.
first you need to decide on if the reel is worth it, if it is, then i would vote for http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=docs&id=10 they give you a choice of quality which can improve the performance incredibly

Take your old bearing to General Bearing on Kent St and have them match it up. You can buy single bearings there, most of the other places your buying 10-12 in a package.
You can even search for your reel for the proper bearings so you don't have to measure.
X2 best small bearings available. The Orange Seal ABEC 7's are wicked.
Just a reminder, what ever bearing you put in, soak them over night in brake cleaner to get all the factory grease and gunk out, let them dry another 24 hours then placed 1 drop of oil on each bearing. What really kills the performance of a lot of reels is the over lubing of bearings, epically spool bearings. A well cleaned and lubed reel is pure magic to use.
