old threads are fun...
I recently tried the leaches... they are not very "life like" IMO.
SMB likely do not care... cause they are smelly, black and work behind a jig...
but I wouldn't think the leach would be anywhere near as good as a live leach...
worms = worms IMO
minnows, somewhere in between.

I have a few bags kicking around just for emergency. If nothing is biting my live bait or lure I'll toss in a few artificials.
I've actually had some pretty good success using the gulp nightcrawlers on smallies.
I'm a big fan of panfish though and nothing beats a bobber, hook, and a nice juicy (real) worm

Gulp
As it's been said it doesn't hurt to have a back up to live bait and Gulp seems to work.
If I had a boat I'd challenge you (or anyone) to that. A friendly competiton, winner taking bragging rights only. Walleye, trout, smallies, lakers, specks, splake, whatever.....you with minnows, me with gulp.Rideau-snag wrote:Ya
live minnows medium destroy gulp bait anyday, just like real food is always better then artificial.

If you have confidence in something, it will catch fish. I have confidence in gulp, as it sounds you have confidence in minnows

Geez.... you would think I was sponsored by gulp.
