*NEW Mr.J. Specials*

Post by Mr.J. »

The process never ends.

New for this year I have added an eye screw to the top of the lure and got some very interesting action in the pool. It can be used as a glide bait if hooked up front and like a swim bait if hooked on the top.

And yes for those who know about Mr.J.Specials they work great with blades added too. My pike sized have put fish in the boat this year.

Since musky is not open yet I cannot say how the action will be in open water. Also new is the ability to add a buzz blade and run them like topwater (it's put some pike in the boat this year :D )

The body length is 7 inches and with the trailing hook brings it up around 10 inches overall.

I am disapointed in this picture, it really doesn't do these lure justice. I had intended to paint the bellys yellow but of course I didn't have any yellow paint.

If you click on the picture you'll get a bit of a better view.

NO these are not for sale so please don't PM me asking and if they ever do go for sale they won't be cheap. There are several fish-hawkers that will tell you they do catch musky and many more will complain that I won my own derby with one of these :P .

J-man... you know I'm a believer... having netted the fish that won you that derby! 8)
If the picture doesn't do'em justice, I'd love to see a couple in person!

Nicely done!

Cheers,

I think I want you to paint my boat!!!

(That would be cool... perch pattern tinny!!)

Seriously nice work. I love the DIY aspect of anything (except child bearing!). I love it when people say to leave it to the professional, and you don't, then end up with amazing results like what you have there!!!

How many hours do you think they add up to on each piece, from beginning to end?

Well I don't make them 1 at a time

1, Cut wood, say 5 miutes
2, Mark up wood for weights and eye screws, say 5 minutes
3, Trun on the lathe, say 5 minutes
4, Seal wood and wait 24 hours to dry
5, paint, wait 24 hours to dry
6, clear coat, wait 24 hours to dry
7, clear coat, wait 24 hours to dry
8, clear coat, wait 24 hours to dry
9 Assembly

It takes about a week
